La Expo Cable Tec SCTE es otra esperada expo en su regreso presencial, este año en el Pensylvania Convention Center de Philadelphia, entre el 20 y el 22 de septiembre, con algunas conferencias el lunes 19.
Prensario viene asistiendo hace casi 20 años y está organizada por la sociedad de ingenieros de los grandes operadores de Estados Unidos, la SCTE, más allá de cierta debilidad por su apuesta a la continuidad del HFC frente al crecimiento enorme de la fibra óptica y el FTTH, sigue siendo la principal referencia para los operadores grandes de tv paga de Latinoamérica que han seguido la misma línea. Por eso siempre son habituales asistentes —con sus planas mayores de tecnología— Megacable, Izzi, Millicom, Liberty Media con VTR, TV Cable Ecuador, Telecom de Argentina, Cable & Wireless, Altice, Claro, Telefónica, los operadores de Montevideo y otros. Como ya hemos dicho otras veces, es un evento clave para ir a ver a los verdaderos tomadores de decisión de las grandes marcas, y más ahora con la evolución y fusiones post pandemia.
Igualmente, la SCTE ha sumado con decisión las opciones de fibra y muchos de sus expositores líderes, como Commscope, ofrecen ambas opciones. Pero más allá de esa disputa que se va resolviendo, hay coincidencia en que el que tiene capacidad instalada de HFC tiene las posibilidades intactas, y justamente el slogan de este regreso de la expo y el título de la Conferencia principal es Creando infinitas posibilidades. Esa Open Session principal será en el Terrace Ballrom el martes 20 de septiembre a las 10 am. Incluso se plantea llegar al Docsis 4.0.
Dentro de ese paraguas temático de posibilidades infinitas, el martes habrá además conferencias sobre Nuevas tendencias con menos STBs, Redes convergentes para MSOs y usar AI (Artificial Intelligence) en servicios de video.
El Miércoles y jueves se destacan además conferencias como el Futuro de la pay tv, El camino a Docsis 4.0, 10G Networks con velocidad y estabilidad en un tema recurrente para los 10 Gigas, la Bienvenida a un nuevo mundo de latencia, Moving wifi forward y hasta Nfts y las oportunidades para operadores con las criptomonedas.
Tech Games, Chapter CALA y sesiones en español
El Miércoles 21 se harán los International Tech Games el miércoles entre las 8,15 y las 11.15., en el que siempre participan miembros del Chapter CALA con el que Prensario estuvo reunido. Se esperaban representantes de México y Argentina.
Además, está el Desayuno internacional el tercer día, a las 7.30 AM, donde siempre están atentos, participando y donde han sido premiados operadores de Latam.
El Chapter CALA propicia seis conferencias en español, tres virtuales y tres presenciales, principalmente los días martes y miércoles.
Ejes temáticos de los Workshops
David Watson de Comcast y Michael Fries, Vice Chariman and CEO de Liberty Global, organizaron los workshopts técnicos con 13 ejes temáticos: Wireline Access Network, Converged Networks and Mobility, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud and Virtualization, Energy Management and Sustainability on the Road to 10G IoT, Home Networking, Smart Cities, and Emerging Services, Video Services, Workforce Learning & Development, Software Development, Automation, y Tooling DevOps and Agile.
Expo Cable TEC SCTE returns to Philadelphia
The Expo Cable Tec SCTE is another long-awaited expo on its face-to-face return, this year at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, between September 20 and 22, with some conferences on Monday 19. Under the umbrella of Infinite Possibilities, the motto of the event for this year, on Tuesday there will also be conferences on New trends with fewer STBs, Converged networks for MSOs and using AI (Artificial Intelligence) in video services.

Tech Games, Chapter CALA and sessions in Spanish
On Wednesday the 21st, the International Tech Games will be held on Wednesday between 8:15 and 11:15. Representatives from Mexico and Argentina were expected.
In addition, there is the International Breakfast on the third day, at 7:30 AM, where there are always participants from Latam. The CALA Chapter hosts six conferences in Spanish, three virtual and three face-to-face, mainly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
