Interra Systems’ ORION 2110 Probe Supports SMPTE ST 2110, Simplifying IP Monitoring
To help broadcasters and service providers meet today’s high expectations for video quality — while streamlining content QC and monitoring processes across the digital media supply chain — Interra Systems has recently introduced numerous updates to its
BATON media QC, BATON Captions, ORION media monitoring, and VEGA Media Analyzer (VMA) platforms.
Now offering improved support for localization, Interra Systems’ ORION and ORION OTT solutions provide real-time monitoring of IP and OTT streams for live and VOD content. Enhancements to ORION include additional HDR and SMPTE ST 2110 checks, and support for scheduled monitoring.

Interra Systems’ ORION Central Manager Provides Unprecedented Visibility and Proactive Monitoring
ORION-OTT has been upgraded with enhanced support for Dolby Atmos audio and monitoring of low-latency streams, more DASH compliance checks, improvements in freeze detection, and more. The company is also highlighting its ORION 2110 Probe for comprehensive QoS/QoE monitoring of SMPTE ST 2110 essence streams, and upgrades to its ORION Central Manager (OCM) for enterprise-wide monitoring of linear/OTT streaming workflows, including end-to-end ad insertion monitoring.
Interra Systems’ BATON automated QC solution, which addresses the most demanding QC standards for quality and compliance. Recent updates offer enhancements for QC and analysis of UHD content, optimized IMF analysis, and optimized reading and downloads from S3 cloud.
New video quality checks include detection and decoding of QR codes, video dropout, logo detection, burnt-in-text recognition, and more. In addition, BATON now offers complete support and checks for subtitles and transport stream formats, as well as Dolby Atmos, enhanced audio quality checks, and new formats like REDCODE audio.

Interra Systems’ BATON Automated, File-Based QC Solution
For captioning, Interra Systems demonstrated the new features now available for its BATON Captions solution, including additional languages; project-based custom dictionaries; burnt-in text detection; profane word detection; next-generation format-specific checks; IAM-based S3 access support for Cavena890, PAC, and CAP subtitling; recaptioning; and exporting captions in the MCC format.
The company also highlighted BATON LipSync for the detection of audio and video sync-related errors, and updates to its BATON Media Player (BMP), including further support for Dolby Atmos storage formats.
Using Interra Systems’ new VEGA Vista software, broadcasters and video equipment providers can quickly perform a comprehensive analysis on high-level video stream data.
