Blackmagic Design with the focus on Latin America

‘We’re excited to have our products on display at CAPER this November and showcase our latest technologies and workflows to our Latin American customers’, said Dan May, President of Blackmagic Design to Prensario.

‘We can’t wait to hear their feedback and learn more about their perspectives and projects, as well as how we can better support their workflows in the future’.

Dan May, President of Blackmagic Design

‘The Latin American market continues to have huge potential for Blackmagic Design, and our customers in the region never cease to amaze us with what they’re doing. Just recently, Argentinian broadcast and live streaming company Otra Vuelta Broadcasting relied on URSA Broadcast G2 cameras and an ATEM Constellation 8K live production switcher to produce a 360-degree experience at DJ Bizarrap’s three sold out concerts at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo in Buenos Aires. This was a massive production for Otra Vuelta Broadcasting and was hugely successful. Our technology supporting projects like this validates our mission and truly inspires us to keep growing and innovating’, said May.

‘As a company, our focus to continue to innovate and offer accessible tools to our customers to help empower them creatively is the main priority. Shows like CAPER are an excellent opportunity for us to learn more about what our customers are up to and their technological needs. It’s only through customer feedback that we can continue to grow and innovate, and this is why we take it so seriously’.

Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K

‘IBC was a very exciting opportunity for Blackmagic Design’

‘We kicked off the show with several exciting camera announcements, including the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K (US$2,595), a new high end digital film camera with a full frame 6K sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range, L-Mount, dual native ISO up to 25,600 for incredible low light performance and recording to CFexpress cards’.

‘This new model features a massive 24 x 36mm 6K sensor, allowing for large format cinema camera image quality in a portable, lightweight body. Using the full area of the sensor gives customers a unique open gate 3:2 image, which also lets them reframe their shots in post production’.

‘The large sensor also lets customers work in true 6:5 anamorphic without cropping, making widescreen cinematic images more detailed and in higher resolution than previously possible. When customers are doing cloud and mobile work, the camera records both deep bit depth Blackmagic RAW and H.264 proxies at the same time’, explained May

‘For those customers looking to unlock the power of their iPhones by adding digital film camera controls and operating systems, we announced the Blackmagic Camera app. Based on the same operating system as Blackmagic Design’s digital film cameras, the professional features available on the app give iPhone content creators the same tools used in feature films, television, and documentaries’.

‘Customers can adjust settings, such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance, and ISO, all in a single tap, and record directly to Blackmagic Cloud in industry standard 10-bit Apple ProRes files up to 4K. Support for Blackmagic Cloud allows creators to collaborate and share media with multiple editors and colorists around the world instantly. The Blackmagic Camera app is available from the Apple App Store, free of charge’.

Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2

‘We also announced the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 (US$1,345), an updated studio camera model which adds 12G-SDI, allowing customers to connect it to SDI-based switchers such as ATEM Constellation. The new model also adds support for remote camera control over networks via REST APIs and talkback on 3.5mm headsets. Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 retains the same amazing 4K digital film sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range, MFT lens mount, and compact all-in-one design of the previous model’.

‘Needless to say, IBC was full of energy! Meeting with so many customers and prospects is always a huge pleasure for us and something we look forward to at every show’, resume May
