The NVIDIA GTC AI Conference and Expo in San Jose, CA ran from March 16 – 19, and this year, CommScope brought some exceptionally big news to the show. We introduced our new, globally-available Rapid Fiber Connect platform to the world, and for super-high density AI data centers, it is truly a game-changer.
Panels and cables, simplicity and speed
The platform consists of GPU panels, switch panels and trunk cables with Mass Insert connectors to connect the panels. Together, they make it easier for AI data center operators to configure new racks offsite—or at least off the floor—and roll them in, ready to connect and turn up. Each part of the platform is designed to flex to accommodate growing network demand and evolving architectures, such as NVIDIA’s NVL72 72-GPU rack-system infrastructure.
Rapid Fiber Connect GPU panels feature front-access only designs that accommodate up to 960 fibers, making it a smart choice for high-density racks with power/cooling connections blocking off rear access
Rapid Fiber Connect switch panels provide front and rear access designs capable of supporting up to 1,728 fibers each. They’re stackable to support the high fiber counts required for the switch cabinets in AI data center GPU network.
Trunk cables with Mass Insert connectors are available in singlemode and multimode options to connect between racks and across pods, in a range of lengths and fiber counts to accommodate different applications.
