EiTV attended IBC to showcase technologies developed by the company for DTV+ (TV 3.0)—Brazil’s next-generation digital television standard—to the international market, while also seeking to expand collaborations with global technology partners involved in the development of chipsets, televisions, and set-top boxes.
A key highlight among these technologies is the DTV+ middleware (an Application-Oriented Platform, or AoP), developed by EiTV to implement the software layer responsible for running applications and enabling new interactive TV 3.0 services on receiving devices.
EiTV also presented DTV+ Publisher, a platform designed to allow broadcasters and other stakeholders in the broadcasting ecosystem to implement and manage features, applications, metadata, and new services defined by the Brazilian standard.
«Brazilian TV 3.0 incorporates highly innovative features, and our strategy involves collaborating closely with manufacturers of chipsets, televisions, and set-top boxes—as well as other technology partners—to facilitate the implementation of DTV+ in devices destined for the market,» stated Rodrigo Cascão Araújo, CEO of EiTV.
EiTV’s presence at IBC is also part of its strategy to strengthen ties between the Brazilian TV 3.0 ecosystem and the international technology industry.
The company’s participation reaffirms its track record of over two decades in the development of Brazilian digital television. Founded in 2005, EiTV has been associated with the Brazilian Terrestrial Digital Television System Forum (SBTVD Forum) since its inception and continues to actively contribute to the development and evolution of technologies used by the Brazilian broadcasting industry.
Currently, EiTV is involved in various initiatives related to the rollout of TV 3.0, including the development of DTV+ Middleware and DTV+ Publisher, as well as tools and applications for the new ecosystem. Within the SBTVD Forum, the company also coordinates activities related to developing the test suite for TV 3.0.
«TV 3.0 offers Brazil the opportunity to once again play a significant role in the technological evolution of television. Our ambition goes beyond developing solutions for the Brazilian market. We want the technologies and expertise being generated here to be integrated into the global ecosystem and create new opportunities for international cooperation for EiTV and the Brazilian industry,» adds Araújo.
