Eutelsat brings the next generation of video solutions to IBC 2026

As the media industry continues to evolve, broadcasters and content providers face a common challenge: how to reach increasingly fragmented audiences while maintaining quality, controlling distribution costs and creating new opportunities for monetisation. At IBC 2026, Eutelsat will showcase how satellite is evolving to address these priorities, combining the reach and efficiency of GEO with the flexibility and low latency of LEO connectivity.

Eutelsat will present a portfolio spanning the entire video value chain: from live contribution over the Eutelsat OneWeb LEO network to multiscreen satellite streaming, hybrid distribution for FAST channels, smarter Free-to-Air services and integrated GEO-LEO connectivity.

Taking live video contribution further with OneWeb LEO

One of the key focuses at IBC will be Video Contribution over Eutelsat OneWeb LEO, an increasingly relevant solution for broadcasters, production companies and content creators that need to transmit high-quality live video from locations where terrestrial connectivity may be unavailable, insufficient or congested.

LEO connectivity introduces a new level of flexibility into IP-based contribution workflows. Its low latency, extensive coverage and compatibility with portable user terminals make it particularly suited to applications such as live sports, news gathering, remote production and coverage of large-scale events.

For media organisations, this means production teams can operate with greater independence from local infrastructure. LEO can also complement cellular connectivity within bonded architectures, adding another resilient path for transporting live feeds when mobile networks become saturated or coverage is inconsistent.

Following successful demonstrations at previous major industry events and operational deployments in the field, IBC 2026 will provide another opportunity for customers to explore how OneWeb LEO can become part of their next-generation contribution strategy.

Bringing streaming to every screen – via satellite

Innovation is also changing what satellite can deliver at the other end of the video chain. Eutelsat’s Multiscreen Satellite Streaming proposition brings together the scalability of broadcast with IP-native content delivery. Using technologies including DVB-NIP (Native IP), live and on-demand content can be efficiently distributed via satellite and made available across multiple screens.

The model is particularly relevant where broadband networks are constrained or where delivering popular live content to large simultaneous audiences can place significant pressure on terrestrial infrastructure. Rather than creating an individual stream across the entire distribution network for every viewer, satellite can use its inherent broadcast efficiency to deliver content at scale.

This creates new possibilities for broadcasters and service providers looking to extend streaming experiences beyond the limits of conventional broadband infrastructure, while maintaining consistent quality of experience.

Scaling innovation beyond connected audiences

Beyond LEO contribution and multiscreen satellite streaming, Eutelsat continues to explore new ways to combine the reach and efficiency of satellite with the flexibility of IP and connected technologies.

This includes hybrid approaches that can help FAST channels extend their reach beyond internet-only distribution, as well as services such as Sat.tv Connect, which adds a digital layer to the scale and reliability of Free-to-Air satellite television.

Together, these innovations reflect a broader evolution in Eutelsat’s video strategy: one where GEO and LEO are not competing architectures, but complementary capabilities across the media workflow. By combining the massive distribution efficiency of GEO with the flexibility and low latency of LEO, and integrating both with IP-based technologies, Eutelsat is helping broadcasters and content providers build more flexible, resilient and future-ready video services.

At IBC 2026 visitors can meet the Eutelsat team at Hall 1, Stand 1.A61, to explore how satellite can help expand audiences, strengthen live production workflows and unlock new opportunities across the rapidly evolving video ecosystem.
