IHSE continues to expand KVM products for high performance operations in 4K and beyond

IHSE USA brings many KVM solutions designed to streamline workflows, strengthen security, and boost performance to the broadcasting and post production markets.

Solutions include the new features of its Draco tera IP Gateway, the Draco Tactical Deployable KVM System, Draco CON app, and kvm-tec Series KVMoIP extenders.

‘In today’s fast-paced broadcast environment, the ability to instantly access essential equipment is crucial to every great transmission, whether in a broadcast studio, OB van, or post-production facility’, said Dan Holland, marketing manager for IHSE.

‘Those who are looking for the best will appreciate the IHSE and kvm-tec quality. Our latest KVM solutions have been engineered leveraging nearly 40 years of experience, allowing operators, engineers, and producers to manage any device from any workstation while delivering greater flexibility, increased efficiency, and enhanced system security and reliability’.

Software-Based KVM Solution for IP Access From a Standard, Network-Connected PC

IHSE’s Draco CON App is software that emulates the functions of a regular (physical) IHSE CON unit (decoder). Users only need an IP connection with sufficient bandwidth (at least 1G), low latency, and a suitable device such as a capable laptop or desktop PC to access a regular KVM network in real time.

Utilizing the already available IT infrastructure, it provides access to KVM-connected devices as simply as possible without sacrificing security. A major benefit is that customers of IHSE’s proprietary KVM solutions can expand their system with IP-based components.

The serviceability, safety, and reliability of an IHSE KVM system are maintained, while at the same time, the flexibility and simplicity of the transmission protocol over-IP are incorporated into the system. The Draco CON App offers maximum flexibility for existing as well as new customers and works with Windows, Linux, and MacOS.

Highly Secure KVM Bridging Over Existing IP Networks

IHSE introduce the new Draco tera IP Gateway in 2023. The Draco tera IP Gateway provides IHSE KVM users with the ability to bridge multiple KVM matrixes over existing IP networks within buildings, across campuses, and between remote corporate offices.

It combines the high levels of security and performance of the Draco tera KVM system with the flexibility and ease of connectivity inherent in IP-based communication.

Therefore, it allows users to access remote computers and interact in real time with minimal latency and no visible artifacts, with the full confidence of a highly secure KVM system.

Providing Secure Remote Access for Deployable Command & Control Environments

Built from the latest high-speed KVM technology components, the Draco Tactical Deployable KVM System is designed for remote command and control rooms used for real-time collaborative visualization demanded by many different organizational verticals. The Draco Tactical system brings together multiple actions within mission-critical environments.

All electrical components, power, and cabling can be mounted inside a rugged, transportable, weather-resistant, and MIL-SPEC-compliant case. Because the Draco Tactical systems are built around common KVM components, users can create custom configurations to support multiple displays and projection requirements.

For video projection, each Draco Tactical system can support an MV4K60 advanced quad-screen video processor commonly used for multimedia presentations in tactical operation centers and command operation centers.

This is beneficial when it becomes necessary to display up to four video images on a single projector or monitor. Further, IHSE has partnered with a leading shelter provider to support portable large-screen projection systems.

These preconfigured and easily deployable systems can support screen sizes ranging from 60 inches to 190 inches wide and can accommodate all major projector resolutions up to 4K and 4,000 lumens.

kvm-tec Series Extenders for KVM-over-IP (KVMoIP) With 4K and Multiviewer Capabilities

On display will be kvm-tec’s Scalable Line, supporting networked 4K multiviewer capabilities over a 10G network switch. Unique features include the ability to control and manage up to 16 computer sources on a single display via a single keyboard and mouse.

By simply moving the mouse inside the gridded cell and clicking, the mouse allows full control of the source. In addition, up to four Scalable receivers can be network-bonded to allow up to 64 sources across the four displays.

Draco G-Flex KVM Matrix Series

With an integrated Draco tera IP gateway card, the Draco G-Flex KVM Matrix Series provides system designers with the ability to bridge multiple KVM matrix systems over an existing IP network. It combines the high levels of security and performance of the Draco tera KVM system with the flexibility and ease of connectivity inherent in IP-based communication.

Therefore, it allows users to access remote computers and interact in real time with minimal latency and no visible artifacts. The Draco G-Flex matrix starts with 16 physical ports and eight gateway ports in one RU. The series can be expanded up to 152 physical ports and eight gateway ports in four RUs.  Systems are available in 1G copper, 1G fiber, 3G copper or 3G fiber. For systems needing a mixture of fiber and copper, the Draco G-Flex can be customized to fit almost any type of hybrid fiber/copper requirement.

kvm-tec media4Kconnect DisplayPort 1.2 Extender and ECOsmart Series of Zero-Space Transmitter Extenders

Thanks to the optimized compression technology and unique conversion processing, kvm-tec’s media4Kconnect series delivers full-4K resolutions in perfect 4:4:4 color space and is compatible with 10G network switches.

The media4Kconnect models are available in different versions to support stand-alone extension, redundancy, or — in a fully uncompressed version — up to 4K. These extenders can be used as high-performance, low-latency KVM point-to-point connections or as part of a larger KVM switching system. Switching can be done through either the on-screen display menu or directly through the provided kvm-tec switching manager software.

The media4Kconnect provides a full array of user features to allow customized setups to eliminate the need for external signal and conversion adapters. For instance, the units can be configured to support two images that can be simultaneously displayed as either dual-4K, 4K+downscaled HD or upscaled 4K and HD. These units support 4K DisplayPort 1.2 using a single duplex fiber-optic SFP module that extends the signals up to 300 meters (984 feet) with multimode fiber or up to 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) with single-mode fiber.

Signals are transmitted with full 4:4:4 at 8-bit color in standard models or up to 4:4:4 at 10-bit in uncompressed models. Standard 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz are achievable with low latency and delay-free transmission.

The kvm-tec ECOsmart series of zero-space transmitter extenders for the extension of keyboard, mouse, and video supports signals up to 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz or 1080p60 for real-time video.

The ECOsmart is offered in a compact, ruggedized aluminum case that can be powered via a USB port on the computer source or with an external power supply. This flexibility makes ECOsmart the perfect KVM extender where rack space is limited and signals must be distributed long distances away from the source.

The compact form factor boasts full-size features such as mouse-glide for using a single keyboard and mouse across multiple monitors, USB 2.0 for card readers, and other high-speed peripherals that can be configured when combined with kvm-tec’s FlexLine and media4Kconnect line of receiver extenders.
