In Latin America, television remains one of the main drivers of satellite market development

RSCC has deployed a ground-based spacecraft control system that is used to control and monitor not only its own satellites but also third-party satellites as well.

Latin America is one of the biggest and most attractive international markets for the satellite industry. Despite this, not all even major satellite operators can provide their services there directly. RSCC, as a global operator carrying on business in 58 countries, has recently gained that right: last year the Andean Community of Nations included Express-AM8 in the register of satellites available for the official provision of communications and broadcasting services in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. Now in the zone of the Latin American beam of Express-AM8 there are broadcasts of Brazilian regional TV channels, as well as sports events. Earlier, it was used for setting up corporate networks in Suriname. In addition, two key events of 2018 were broadcast through this device: the G20 summit in Argentina and the FIFA World Cup in Russia (the signal from Russian cities was then received in Peru, Chile, and Colombia). Moreover, RSCC, together with its partners from Brazil, constructed a monitoring station in the city of Uberlandia: now it covers the entire Latin American region.

Therefore, clients in this region have access to the full range of services provided by RSCC on the basis of Express-AM8, including the organization of communications at mobile facilities, corporate VSAT-networks for companies from absolutely different sectors of the economy, as well as TV broadcasting. RSCC successfully secures the distribution of Brazil’s largest TV channels, among them TV Difusora and TV Goiania, as well as the educational Univesp TV and TV Educação. The total audience of the TV channels is about 40 mn people.
